THE MARCH OF TIME for concert band (grade 1)
The March of Time was composed in October 2022 and was written for very young band...Grade 1. The instrument ranges, rhythms, independence level, and general difficulty are tightly limited in order to create a good effect when performed by beginning musicians.
The title refers to the march-like character of the music, which is bold and majestic. "The march of time" is also a common phrase that conveys that things happen continuously over time...the calendar moves from one day to the next...the world continues without interruption...relentlessly.
The March of Time was also a documentary radio and film series created by Time, Incorporated. The series ran from 1935 to 1951 with the film version shown in movie theaters as a prelude to feature films. The series reported on and portrayed current events around the world, largely from an American perspective.
